Day 12 of 100 days of painting.

Oh I completely forgot to mention that I’m working the layers on only one canvas, rather than alternating between two stretch canvasses. I really liked what I ended up painting on the second canvas, and decided to leave it as it was and not paint over it. Sometimes, the pieces that you paint on a moment’s inspiration are the best pieces.

I guess I could have started on a third canvas. Didn’t think of that…

Today is about simplifying with a single or a couple of neutral colours. This limited colour choice is meant to create unity – which it does. But you can also create unity and coherency by mixing new shades from the pigments you’ve already applied on the canvas.

The world: ignites in me, a sense of curiosity. My mind does not settle until it can comprehend, until it understands. For the physical world, creation has always been my enduring method of choice. For the spiritual world, all-encompassing practices like yoga and meditation, a belief in a higher energy, and writing have always been the soothing and balancing tools I have returned to, to re-ground myself. This is my journey of self-expression. Through written words and different forms of art. To my soul, my inner essence.
