Line Drawing A King Protea

100 Day Project Series

Day 7 of 100 days of drawing flowers and leaves. Onto drawing a king protea.

I was going to avoid drawing shading lines after the last two flowers, however I don’t think I need to draw lines with this protea.

But I might need to add those dimple looking lines to the protea’s outer bracts that surround the bottom edge of the flower head.

Protea drawing is now complete. Not bad for the first protea I’ve ever drawn in my life. I think I might actually be able to paint this protea as well.

When I was doing mark-making practice for the painting session yesterday, I was able to achieve this shape of the petals with a round Princeton snap brush. So maybe I could use that to create these strokes in paint.
